It is in the "Vimeu" area around the Somme bay in north of France that, since 17th century, the brass works has been developped first for door hardware and since 19th century for faucets.
In fact, at the beginning it was the local sand for foundry coupled to the sea and river routes for raw materials that have concentrated a large quantity of brass handcrafters in this area.
Today, it is still 70% of french faucets that are manufactured there, due to these highly skilled workers.En effet,utilisant le sable local pour la fonderie, les voies maritimes et fluviales puis le chemin de fer pour les tansports de matières et la présence de nombreux artisans qualifiés.
